• YouTube isn't recieving any data from my FFmpeg stream to the RTMP server

9 novembre 2020, par Eniola Oyewole

So I have a python programming running on my computer that is sending the same image to an RTMP server every second. The python program is reading the image and then sending the data, from the console everything seems ok but youtube says that its not receiving any data. My code :

import subprocess
import cv2
rtmp_url = "rtmp://b.rtmp.youtube.com/live2/"

fps = 1.5

width = 600
height = 600

# command and params for ffmpeg
command = ['ffmpeg',
'-y',
'-f', 'rawvideo',
'-vcodec', 'rawvideo',
'-pix_fmt', 'bgr24',
'-s', "{}x{}".format(width, height),
'-r', str(fps),
'-i', '-',
'-c:v', 'libx264',
'-pix_fmt', 'yuv420p',
'-f', 'flv',
rtmp_url]

# using subprocess and pipe to fetch frame data
p = subprocess.Popen(command, stdin=subprocess.PIPE)

while True:
f = cv2.imread('assets/temporary.png')

p.stdin.write(f.tobytes())

My console :

• How to add black frames and keep the framerate ?

3 mars 2020, par Patryk

I have a black image from which I generate videos filled with black color only for specified lengths that I can then concatenate with my destination videos. This is how I produce it :

ffmpeg -loop 1 -i black.png -t 00:00:00.066 \
-c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -vf scale=840:480,fps=15 out66ms.mp4

I’d like to then concatenate it with videos like this one :

ffprobe file.ts
Input #0, mpegts, from 'file.ts':
Duration: 00:00:06.67, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 1090 kb/s

but as soon as I concatenate it using concat demuxer like that :

ffmpeg -y -hide_banner \
-f concat -safe 0 \
-i <(echo "file '$PWD/out66ms.mp4'"; for f in dir/*.ts; do echo "file '$PWD/$f'"; done) \
-c copy \
output.mp

I get this :

Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'output.mp4':
Metadata:
major_brand     : isom
minor_version   : 512

encoder         : Lavf58.29.100

Metadata:
handler_name    : VideoHandler

Which has 2.67 fps whereas not adding this empty black video to concatenation gives the following (desired 15 fps) :

Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'output.mp4':
Metadata:
major_brand     : isom

Metadata:
handler_name    : VideoHandler

EDIT

I’ve tried reencoding instead of copying :

ffmpeg -y -hide_banner \
-f concat -safe 0 \
-i <(echo "file '$PWD/out66ms.mp4'"; for f in dir/*.ts; do echo "file '$PWD/$f'"; done) \
-c:v libx264 -vf scale=840:480,fps=15 \
output.mp

But I get a similar result :

Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'output.mp4':
Metadata:
major_brand     : isom
minor_version   : 512
compatible_brands: isomiso2avc1mp41
encoder         : Lavf58.29.100
Duration: 00:01:41.00, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 555 kb/s
Stream #0:0(und): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p, 1680x480 [SAR 64:63 DAR 32:9], 554 kb/s, 15 fps, 15 tbr, 15360 tbn, 30 tbc (default)
Metadata:
handler_name    : VideoHandler

even though that the fps is set properly the video is too long and slowed down.

How to properly add those black filled videos to preserve fps or set it to desired value ?

• Error using ffmpeg image2pipe with phantomjs to render video from webpage screenshots

14 novembre 2016, par user1690179

I am trying to use phantomjs with ffmpeg to complie videos from screenshots of a webpage as described here :
https://groups.google.com/forum/# !msg/phantomjs/wluVGGjhL90/oGBXqh7QP44J

I have the following test.js file :

var page = require('webpage').create();

page.clipRect = { top: 0, left: 0, width: 900, height: 800};
page.viewportSize = { width: 900, height: 800};

var url = 'http://dl.dropbox.com/u/621993/voronoi/voronoi.html';
var frames = 100;

page.open(url, function(){
setInterval(function(){
page.render('/dev/stdout');

if( frames == 0 ){
phantom.exit();
}

frames--;

}, 100);
});

Then I run this command, taken from the link above :

$ phantomjs test.js |ffmpeg -c:v png -f image2pipe -r 10 -sameq -i - -y test.mp4

Including -sameq causes an error in ffmpeg, so I took it out and ran :

$ phantomjs test.js |ffmpeg -c:v png -f image2pipe -r 10 -i - -y test.mp4

I get the following output from ffmpeg :

The output test.mp4 file is a blank 10 second video - just a black screen. From what i can tell, I am getting a pipe: : Input/output error from ffmpeg.

I am pretty new to ffmpeg and I have tried changing some parameters and video codecs in the ffmpeg call, but have not found a solution yet. Can anyone advise ?
