Video files are encoded in MP4, Ogv and WebM (supported by HTML5) and MP4 (supported by Flash).
Audio files are encoded in MP3 and Ogg (supported by HTML5) and MP3 (supported by Flash).
Where possible, text is analyzed in order to retrieve the data needed for search engine detection, and then exported as a series of image files.

Notre motivation est avant tout de créer un outil simple, accessible à pour tout le monde, favorisant

Legal Issues with FFMPEG ? [closed]
21 décembre 2011, par JimmeryHas anybody had any legal issues using FFMPEG in a commerical product, particularly from MPEG LA ?
I only ask from reading the bottom of this page : http://ffmpeg.org/legal.html
We are hoping to produce a website that uses FFMPEG (or similar program), currently the website will be free to use. However we do hope of monetizing aspects of the website later down the line, and wouldnt want to hit any legal issues at that point.
If this is an issue, does anybody know of a good alternative to FFMPEG which does not have these legal issues ?

Is there a "legal" review of FFmpeg contributions ?

If someone submits code to FFmpeg, is the code just reviewed for technical correctness, or is there also a (for lack of better words) legal review ? A review for any potential patent or copyright issues ? If someone contributes to FFmpeg, does the contributor need to sign any kind of "Contributors Statement" or disclaimer ?

the ffmpeg website clearly states there are legal issues http://www.ffmpeg.org/legal.html
some people say issues relate to AAC and H264 Licensing questions
I just need to know if I can use ffmpeg freely to read wma (mms) stream in an ios app, or if I need to pay royalties to Microsoft for that (quite expensive : http://wmlicense.smdisp.net/filePU/WM%20Components%20Final%20Product%20Agreement%20-%20SAMPLE%20%20(10-05-2012).pdf)
