Converting Real Media with ffmpeg
7 août 2013, par Eric ArensonI have a number of old crusty Real Media files I need to convert and was hoping to write a script to batch process them. I'm able to do a Real Media -> AVI conversion with FFMpegX, but when I try to replicate the conversion with ffmpeg, it always errors out with something like :
[avi @ 0x10084fa00] Too large number of skipped frames 117425 > 60000
It may have something to do with the funky format of these Real Media files :

Compression results using ffmpeg to loop video
4 septembre 2013, par Frank SchwietermanI have a videofile whose duration is being increased x8, which is having a corresponding file size increase of x6. The compression is doing good generally, but since I am increasing the video duration by looping the video, I wonder if its possible to get better compression results ? Hypothetically, since I'm replaying the same content, there could be much more compression. I suspect its not actually possible, but since I'm no expert on ffmpeg or video compression I thought I'd ask.
I am looping the file using simple .mp4 file concatentation, then converting back to mp4 with ffmpeg.

5 septembre 2013, par esj -A noter beaucoup d’incohérences de la part des navigateurs lors d’un Content-Type annoncé comme du PDF :
* Safari ignore à raison mais en silence la balise Link en début de texte ;
* Si on l’encode en base64, Safari se plaint alors qu’il ne commance pas par "%PDF-" ;
* Firefox dit que le texte est du PDF incorrect et n’affiche rien dans les deux cas ;
* Si on ne met pas de Content-Length, Firebug signale une "Uncaught exception" sans plus de précision.
