• broadcast HLS/TS Stream from FFMPEG

  I’m still wrapping my head around most of this, so sorry if my issue is an obvious one !

  I’m trying to broadcast a FFMPEG ’stream’ to a HLS stream i can load into a webpage.

  My understanding is that i need a media server to broadcast it from FFMPEG to a HLS stream ? with FFMPEG feeding the data to the server. I’m probably wrong though.

  I previously semi achieved what i want to do with stream-m, however it was too slow (less than 1 FPS) and wasn’t broadcasting in HLS.

  Previously, the steps i went through were to launch the stream-m server. then launce FFMPEG with the following command :

  ffmpeg.exe -f dshow -i video="screen-capture-recorder" -r 1 -g 2 -vcodec libvpx -vb 1024 -f matroska http://localhost:8080/publish/first?password=secret

  I could connect to the stream with Chrome using the following HTML :

  <video src="http://localhost/consume" autoplay="autoplay">
  
  </video>

  The issue is that this was slow, unusable in fact, and it’s not in HLS/H264.

  I need the feed in the specific codec as i intend to send it to a WiiU browser, which only supports "M3U8+TS(HTTPLiveStreaming)"

• Android : Build a decoder library from Jpeg to MP4 video

  I am working on Android 2.2, and my goal is to covert a sequence of images to mp4 video, MPEG-4_Part_14, to be more exact.

  The most reasonable solution would be using FFmpeg libraries, and compile them to Android using NDK. How ever I am looking for solution without NDK.

  I do not expect from you to build this tool for me, or find some one else who did. I spent quit of time now searching for that, and it’s some thing that probably no1 one did yet.

  So the only thing that I am asking, is help me find the specs so I be able to build the decoder by my self. I know that it’s not a trivial task(May be this is why no one did it yet), but I want to do it any way. So please just help me start it.

  I’m having a hard time figuring this one out, so hopefully, some of you who has tried this before, will take the time to reply and share your knowledge.

  I’m working on a site, which after release, will be feeded in the television and other commercial places. The site asks the user to upload a video with a story, and we expect alot of people to do so.

  My problem is the whole storage/space talk. A normal, unencoded iPhone recording easily fills around 100-120 MB for a minute or two.

  I’ve tried setting up and using FFMPEG to re-encode the movies, but the problem is, that one encoding sucks up 100% of the CPU, leaving the site inaccisible for anybody else.

  Is there anything you could suggest, which would be sufficient for such a site ? The client is on a budget, so price is a consideration aswell. Best of all would be a free alternative to etc. FFMPEG, but with less CPU usage.

  My specs are as follows
  CentOs 6 on a
  1GB ram DigitalOcean cloud service with nginx + php-fpm and mysql.

  Im hoping for some cleaver folks to answer this !
