Creating farms of unique websites
13 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP platforms can be installed as a farm, with a single "core" hosted on a dedicated server and used by multiple websites.
This allows (among other things) : implementation costs to be shared between several different projects / individuals rapid deployment of multiple unique sites creation of groups of like-minded sites, making it possible to browse media in a more controlled and selective environment than the major "open" (...) -
Other interesting software
13 avril 2011, parWe don’t claim to be the only ones doing what we do ... and especially not to assert claims to be the best either ... What we do, we just try to do it well and getting better ...
The following list represents softwares that tend to be more or less as MediaSPIP or that MediaSPIP tries more or less to do the same, whatever ...
We don’t know them, we didn’t try them, but you can take a peek.

http live streaming based on a m3u file
23 mars 2018, par 3agelx45I have an account on a platform of streaming (legal !). This platform provide me with a m3u file, the content looks like follow :
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="|| something ||" tvg-logo="" group-title="",|| CAT1 ||
http://someurl.domain:1234/video1.ts
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="video2" tvg-logo="" group-title="CAT1 part 1",VIDEO1
http://someurl.domain:1234/video2.ts
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="" tvg-name="video2" tvg-logo="" group-title="CAT1 part 1",VIDEO2
.
.
.
etcThis file works fine using vlc from home. but when I travel I use Hotels hotspots and some do block the connection to someurl.domain:1234.
is it possible to stream the m3u file using a light http server (stream the file from server side and reroute result to http). The idea is run a small iptv server from home on my raspberry which will allow me to bypass the "censorship" faced with some hotspots.
Thanks !

Is there a way to "crop" bitmap based subtitles with ffmpeg ?
11 juillet 2021, par Michael HarmonIs there a way to "crop" bitmap based subtitles ? Specifically I have some hdmv/pgs subs that I'd like to crop along with the video they go with, and while I can use a complex filtergraph to crop them, they encode as video, I need them to encode as dvb_subs or something similar.

Currently I can either not touch the pgs subs, and simply pass them through with -c:s copy, or convert them to dvd or dvb subs, but they are the wrong size since I've now changed the video resolution by cropping.

My last resort would be to burn in the subs, then crop the video after that using a filtergraph, but I hate burned in subs unless they're absolutely necessary.
Is there a way to crop the subs in order to fit the video ?
