  • How to overlay 2 videos at different time over another video in single ffmpeg command ?

17 mars 2018, par Qandeel Abbasi

Using ffmpeg command line I want to overlay 2 different videos on top of another (main video) at different time for different duration. I have successfully overlayed 1 video over the main video at specific time and for specific duration using following command :

    ffmpeg -i main.mp4 -i first.mp4 \
    -filter_complex "[1:v]setpts=PTS-32/TB[a]; \
                    [0:v][a]overlay=enable=gte(t\,5):eof_action=pass[out]; \
                    [1] scale=480:270 [over]; [0][over] overlay=400:400" \
    -map [out] -map 0:a \
    -c:v libx264 -crf 18 -pix_fmt yuv420p \
    -c:a copy \
    output.mp4

How can i modify the same command to apply the same operations on two secondary videos at the same time ?

  • ffmpeg auto scaling problem - Picture width must be an integer multiple of the specified chroma subsampling [closed]

    19 juin 2024, par kali

Apparently one of my input files have a wonky aspect ratio and it lands on a "non - integer" auto scaled width. which produces an error message about chroma multiples (naturally)

    ffmpeg -i "1.mp4" -vf "scale=-1:1920" -c:v libx265 -c:a aac -preset slow -x265-params "crf=22:min-keyint=25:keyint=50" "2.mp4"

I think what's happening is ffmpeg internally converts "5120x2880" resolution to "3413.33x1920" hence the error message. Is there a way to tell ffmpeg to round up/down to nearest "chroma acceptable ratio" (for yuv420 this 2) These files are converted via a script and it does not really matter if the width is a few pixels longer or shorter.
