• Using Cygwin for FFMPEG build error cmp : command not found

  I’ve been trying to use Cygwin to build ffmpeg but I’m running into the error ./configure: line 1132: cmp: command not found. I tried looking around online for solutions but found none. I also checked if I just didn’t download the right package when I downloaded Cygwin but I found nothing relating to cmd. I’m not sure if there is a workaround or not. The code from line 1132 is :

   cmp -s "$1" "$2" && echo "$2 is unchanged" && return

• FFMPEG : how can I properly add a text overlay to my video and save it to a thumbnail ?

  I have a ffmpeg command that goes to a url and successfully creates thumbnails at specified intervals. What I would like to do is add the time (eg : 03:45:20) to the bottom-left corner of the video in white text with a black shadow. I have seen a few examples online with drawtext but none of them seem to work with my current command :

  C:\ffmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe -ss 00:23:12 -i "http://myvideourl.com/videofile.mp4" -f mjpeg -vframes 1 -y C:\thumb2.jpg

  Can someone suggest how I can implement the correct drawtext filter with my current command so that it outputs the thumbnail with the duration stamped at the bottom-left corner ?

  I've compiled ffmpeg with libx264 using configure options given at 1.

  This results in the following codecs being available in ffmpeg :

  After this, I compiled opencv. Here is partial cmake result :

  Now, using opencv's VideoWriter, I tried to encode into flv with the following FOURCC codes :
  FLV1, X264

  While the FLV1 results in a video file not playable by flash player, but playabe by vlc ; X264 produces no results at all.
  Here is the console output for X264, resulting in a 0 byte file.

  Output #0, flv, to 'd.flv' :
  Stream #0.0 : Video : [0][0][0][0] / 0x0000, yuv420p, 320x240, q=2-31, 4915 kb/s, 90k tbn, 24 tbc

  Do you see anything amiss or incorrect ?
