    Deux formats intéressants existent : Celui développé par Apple, très axé sur l’utilisation d’iTunes dont la SPEC est ici ; Le format "Media RSS Module" qui est plus "libre" notamment soutenu par Yahoo et le logiciel Miro ;
Types de fichiers supportés dans les flux
    Le format d’Apple n’autorise que les formats suivants dans ses flux : .mp3 audio/mpeg .m4a audio/x-m4a .mp4 (...)

  • FFMPEG, DrawText Issue in Live Stream

    7 décembre 2022, par Kenneth

I am using the following command to create an H264 stream with text data from a text file. Example data is fake. I am sending this to an RTSP server that then allows clients to connect. I am connecting from VLC to view the stream.

See update, this only happens for the live stream. If I output to file, it looks correct.

    OS : Windows 10

    ffmpeg -f lavfi -re -i color=size=1280x720:rate=1:color=black ^
  -vf drawtext="fontsize=16:fontfile=C\\:/Windows/fonts/consola.ttf:fontcolor=white:textfile='livetext.txt':x=50:y=50: reload=1" ^
  -c:v libx264 -preset ultrafast -tune zerolatency -x264-params keyint=10:min-keyint=10 ^
  -f rtsp rtsp://127.0.0.1:60000/sorting

The issue I am having is that the text shown in the video seems to be limited to 10 rows. On a fresh restart, I get even less. I don't see anything mentioned in the documentation about a limitation on length.

I have tried different -preset and -tune options. Nothing improves this issue.

Are there settings I should adjust to help this ?

If I output to a file, the text is shown correctly (shown below). If I take out the -re argument for the output to match input rate, I get 150fps, so processing power does not seem to be the issue.

tried with and without sudo, tried changing rtsp ://... to http://
also tried udp but get same output..

chacked that the port is not in use(8888) and different ports (1935...) but still the same.

i installed ffmpeg via brew install...

when i run some test server on my localhost i never have issues ussing an unused port

really stuck here and any help would be amazing...thank you

    EDIT :
Problem was in the command i used : "rtsp ://127.0.0.1:8888/live" - but i did not have a running server capable of accepting the data from ffmpeg and redestributing it - so i had to first run such server and only after that to run ffmpeg :

Servers which can receive from FFmpeg (to restream to multiple clients) include ffserver (linux only, though with cygwin it might work on windows), or Wowza Media Server, or Flash Media Server, Red5, or various others. Even VLC can pick up the stream from ffmpeg, then redistribute it, acting as a server.

i used the VLC option. You can read about it here : http://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/StreamingGuide

  • ffmpeg converting JPG slideshow to H264

    22 décembre 2018, par phol

I am trying to convert a set of jpg files to a slideshow with varying durations using ffconcat

    output.txt contents :

    ffconcat version 1.0
    file slide_0001.jpg
    duration 0.163
    file slide_0002.jpg
    duration 0.533
    file slide_0003.jpg
    duration 1.067
    file slide_0004.jpg
    duration 0.533
    file slide_0005.jpg
    etc.

    FFmpeg command :

    ffmpeg -i output.txt output.mkv

    I also tried :

    ffmpeg -i output.txt -c:v copy output.mkv

However, when converting, the colours of the images become skewed.
White becomes pink / purple and dark green becomes light green.
The same happens when choosing different codecs and containers.
Is there a way to solve this ?

    EDIT :
I performed the same conversion again. I attached the log output as requested.
However, in the meantime I have figured out that converting without ffconcat duration and then altering timecodes with mp4fpsmod is more efficient in terms of storage (3 vs 40 MB) and gives less issues in different players. The result is nonetheless the same : colours are still wrong, both on my workstation (Ubuntu 18.04) and laptop (macOS Mojave).

I tried to alter things with pix_fmt and -vf format as can be seen in the second log output. This did not solve the problem.

    Background info :
The input jpg files are from a lecture recording made with MediaSite, which has both a video stream for the room as well as this slideshow stream for the slides.

    Example of input :
