ffmpeg : h263 codec not supported in mp4 container
4 novembre 2011, par userffmpegI am trying to encode a file using ffmpeg codec h263 into an mp4 container. I get the following error whenever I try to do so: [mp4 @ 01FC05E0] track 0: could not find tag, codec not currently supported in container
Is there any work-around for this? I am using a static build of ffmpeg (on windows)
Could anyone please help

ffmpeg fade filter installed but not working ?
4 novembre 2011, par AsthaI have php 5.1.6 running on my CentOS 5 server running Apache 2.2.3
I installed ffmpeg library and my aim is to covert a set of images into a slideshow with the fadein/fade out effect per image swap.
Command ffmpeg says:
`FFmpeg version SVN-r26402, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the FFmpeg developers built on Sep 12 2011 03:37:39 with gcc 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-50) configuration: libavutil 50.36. 0 / 50.36. 0 libavcore 0.16. 1 / 0.16. 1 libavcodec 52.108. 0 / 52.108. 0 libavformat 52.93. 0 / 52.93. 0 libavdevice 52. 2. 3 / 52. 2. 3 libavfilter 1.74. 0 / 1.74. 0 libswscale 0.12. 0 / 0.12. 0 Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder usage: ffmpeg [options] [[infile options] -i infile]... {[outfile options] outfile}... Use -h to get full help or, even better, run 'man ffmpeg'
and command ffmpeg -filters prints:

firstly my ffmpeg was not having fade filter because it was giving error
fade: filter not found
so i installed the patch created vf_fade.c and made corresponding changes to Makefile and allfilters.c file of directory libavfilters in ffmpeg. configured it again then also ran commands 'make' and 'make install' Restarted the server but still its showing the same error
fade: filter not found
what should i do next? if any more details needed please ask and all the helps and ideas and links will be appreciated.

ffmpeg - help understanding + correcting error message
4 novembre 2011, par mattkc7I have a python script that takes a movie file name and it does it job of splitting and converting videos. However, there are red error messages that constantly pop up on the console saying:
[buffer @ 0xa124320] Buffering several frames is not supported. Please consume all available frames before adding a new one.
How can i correct this? Is there something i need to do to the videos before running ffmpeg on them? Worse, i have the screenshot below where some message gets repeated THOUSANDS of times, slowing down everything!
Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

ffmpeg split into frames
4 novembre 2011, par bradleygHey, I want to split a video which is one second long (25fps)into 25 seperate video files. I know I can split it up into jpegs but I need to retain the audio. So when I recompile audio is still there.
This is what I tried to grab the first frame only (with audio):
ffmpeg -i 1.mov -vcodec mjpeg -qscale 1 -an -ss 00:00:00:00 -t 00:00:00:1 frame1.mov
But it doesn't seem to work. Am I wrong in assuming ffmpeg supports time stamps in this format? hh:mm:ss:f?
Thanks

Output a video to a file
3 novembre 2011, par EagleEyeI am working on a very CPU intensive legacy application on windows which captures video frames from camera and displays it on the screen. Now I need to add a feature to it to save this video feed to an output file. And I have a raw image data as an input. I need to make this process as efficient as possible so that it doesn't affect the performance of my application.
So what are the best available API's in C++ that I can use to create an output video file. And moreover what should be the most efficient encoding format that I must use so that I get the maximum throughput. Also I may have to use some compression techniques. So what should be the best approach.
Moreover can I use GPU acceleration for this process and how ?
Uptil now I have encountered following tools that I may use :
- OpenCV
- Microsoft Media Foundation LIbrary or DirectShow
- ffmpeg
